About Me
Since the age of 5 I have known that I was born into the wrong body, and spent the next 26 years since that time hiding, reasoning, compromising, and yes, sometimes hating who I was. It has taken me a long time, but I am finally proud of who I am and the journey I have been on to get here.
At times I wish I had had the strength to admit my truths sooner, but I live with no regrets because it has allowed me to go on many adventures. From playing soccer at Notre Dame and being part of any amazing group of athletes and winning a National Championship. To playing on the U.S. Team Handball team. To finding another true love and passion in cycling, which has not only brought me a career I love, but a group of amazing friends.
Although my mental transition from Erika to Otto began a while ago, my physical transition started March 9th of 2016 when I began Hormone Replacement Therapy. The next, and highly anticipated portion of my transformation, will be top surgery this August, which is why we are all here. It is not in my nature to ask for money, but truth is, I need some help to make this happen for me this year. The natural solution to my funding dilemma was to create this jersey, which combines who I am with what I love. Purchasing this jersey will not only give you an amazing, limited run kit, but will also help me avoid debt as all the profits will go straight to my surgery fund.
I have been absolutely overwhelmed by the support from longtime family & friends, to new acquaintances that have heard my story. I know I am one of the lucky ones. I want to share who I am and all of the good that has come from finally being the true me. Thank you for allowing me to share.
